ARONIA – the Most Healing Plant…
Aronia strengthens and protects the organism.
Most of all, it helps with high blood pressure, anemia, and abdominal diseases.
In general is ideal for human health.
Aronia melanocarpa is little known fruit species. Russia and Mongolia are the countries of origin of this fruit. It can resist at low temperatures, even at -40 degrees and is resistant to plant diseases.
It grows as a bush and reaches up to 2.5 meters, while it gives fruits the second year after planting. Since it blooms in late May, this plant avoids late spring frosts. It forms a cluster with about 20 flowers, similar to blackcurrant, but individually. The fruits are black berries, the size of black currant, with sweet-sour taste and are very resistant. They are ripening simultaneously in late August. Also, they can be kept long because they contain substances that prevent the development of microorganisms.
Aronia is so much appreciated as fruit due to the high nutritional and healing properties of its fruits and flowers. Most of all, its fruits are an excellent raw material for the preparation of compotes, juices, syrups, marmalades, jelly, sweets
Medicinal teas are often prepared of dried fruits and flowers. The fruit contains about 75% juice with a beautiful dark ruby color, great fermented, also known for the large amount of vitamin P. Commonly used for coloring white wines. Fruits contain sugar, organic acid, carotene, pectic substances, salts, iron, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, iodine, etc.
Most noteworthy, the fruits are widely used in medicine, pharmacology and food industry. What’s even more, it has great ability to adapt to different climatic and land conditions.
Aronia, nowadays, is planted more and more due to the fact that it is resistant to all climate changes, and because of its medicinal ingredients is a small vitamin bomb.
- Juice of fresh aronia
- 1 cup of 2 dl fresh or frozen aronia
- 4-5 tbsp of brown sugar
- 1 lemon
- First of all, peel the lemon peel, clean the pips and cut into slices.
- Then, put the ingredients in a blender put the cleaned lemon, aronia, brown sugar and 2 dl of water and mix.
- After that, pour the water as much as can fit in your blender (approximately, each blender is of 1.5 liters) and mix.
- And finally serve with a drinking straw or spoon.
- Aronia Smoothie
- 1 cup of kefir
- 1 tablespoon of honey (or more)
- 1 whole banana
- 1 cup of aronia
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
Put all of the ingredients in a blender and mix well.
