Bean (Phaseolus Vulgaris) is an annual plant of the flowering plant family and ranks among the plants with high biological value. It is the best known and most widespread representative of this flowering family and to a great extend is present in the diet of people. It is remarkably high in calories – 100grams of beans has 143kcal. Necessary biological substances in bean are: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and all the important amino acids, lecithin, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron. However, on the other hand is poor in vitamins, so it should be used with foods rich in vitamins.

Legumes from the beans are rich in pectin and other hard-digestible substances, so it is not recommended for people with diseased stomach, heart problems and other disorders. Even for healthy individuals bean is not easily digestible food, so in that case it is better to blend and eat in the form of pulp, puree or soup. Bean has also medicinal properties. Seedless legumes are already tested means of reducing blood sugar and are good against inflammation of the kidneys and bladder.

Beans against itching

Cook 1 kg white beans and one full palm of rosemary leaves in 3 liters of water. When the bean will be ready, strain and apply the liquid on the itching places.

Against diabetes

  • Chop 200g of beans and cook it on a low heat for about 45 minutes. Let stand overnight, strain and drink one glass of the water, every half an hour.
  • Make a mixture of 100 grams of beans legumes and 60 grams of blueberry leaves. Put two tablespoons of this mixture into 3dl of water and boil it until it. Drink one cup of this liquid 2 times a day before meals.

Against headache during cold

Boil beans with garlic. When they are boiled enough, crush them and mix them with a little olive oil and lemon juice. Apply this mash in the region of the temples.

Ear diseases

Cook ½ kg of beans into 1 liter of water. When it will boil, put a lid with a hole over it. Put it away from the heat. Place the ear on the opening of the lid and stay like that while it has steam.
