White Horehound Tea for Fertility
White horehound is a perennial shrub, which grows up to 40 cm. The plant is present across Europe, from where originates. Horehound is a herbaceous plant, but most often seen in wooded areas, on moist soil. The flowers are white, and the leaves are covered with hairs.
The leaves are somewhat similar to mint. They have strange odor, which is significantly lost with drying and storage. Horehound blossoms from June to September. Healing properties of white horehound
Horehound is mostly used as a tea or syrup. The plant is known for centuries for its beneficial effects on calming the coughing, and is used in diseases of the lungs and the initial stages of tuberculosis. For breathing, it clears the throat of phlegm and is used for wheezing lungs. It is suitable for asthmatics and those who are short of breath. In the case of the common cold, it is enough to use the tea of horehound. The plant has anti-inflammatory properties but is also used for healing wounds. The powder of horehound leaves is mixed with fat and put on the skin for faster healing.
More recent scientific studies have shown that white horehound has anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-microbial and anti-diabetic properties.
Fertility and white horehound
It is interesting that in the folk medicine, white horehound has been used for a long time for women’s health and as a cure for infertility. It is considered that this herb acts to normalize the secretion of sexual hormones, thus stabilizing operation of the female reproductive organs. Getting on menstrual cycles, ovarian health and allows fertility and conception.
Preparation of white horehound tea
In 2 dl of boiling water put one small spoon of tea. Leave it for 5 minutes and drain. This tea can be drunk several times a day.
